IMPROVING THE PATIENT EXPERIENCE
Right now, if you are coming to WRH by ambulance or patient transport services you might have to deal with nasty weather and busy public areas before recieving medical care.
The video below is another example of how the new Windsor-Essex Hospitals System will make a trip the hospital a lot more comfortable and private for patients, right from the time they arrive.

Doris, ambulances bring patients to the outdoor ambulance bay and are brought in through emergency. In addition, about 25 patients are brought to and from our hospitals each weekday by patient transport companies. These patients may be coming to the hospital from, or returning to a Long-Term Care facility, people traveling to and from the hospital in non-emergency situations who require the use of a stretcher or people traveling to or from the hospital from other hospitals. These patients cannot enter through emergency and must use one of the hospital’s public entrances. This also causes traffic congestion near those entrances.
They could improve the patient experience by having enough staff to take care of them.
Nobody I ever knew was brought into the Ouellette campus by ambulance via the Ouellete entrance. The ambulance entrance is on Goyeau St.
