Yesterday, we released a plan to transform local healthcare for residents. The goal of this plan is to create a seamless, integrated and accessible healthcare system. To help explain the vision, we took a tour of the area, highlighting the different components.
Windsor Star reporter, Dylan Kristy, did a fantastic job boiling the 5-hour announcement tour into less than 2 minutes. Check out his video below.

Hi Shane,
Thanks for sharing. Plenty of inspiring work happening at the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus indeed!
That situation is a bit different than ours though as there are more than 10 hospitals in the Buffalo & Erie County Region and the population is more than double that of Windsor-Essex. The new campus in downtown Buffalo will also be located on a 120 acre property.
The proposed Windsor-Essex Hospitals System, does include two locations in downtown Windsor – an Urgent Care Centre and Satellite Facility at the old Grace Hospital Site, and a Community Hub with a Transitional Stability Centre for mental health clients at the current Ouellette Campus site. We look forward to working with neighbours and community members from each of the proposed locations throughout the planning stages to maximize the positive impact these developments can have and create healthy environments at locations throughout this region.
A healthy Windsor-Essex requires a heathy environment, a healthy place to live. When we build our city in a fashion that embodies a healthy lifestyle, rejuvenation and sustainable practices we act in a preventative nature. These principles are part of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus’s mandate. Such efforts should be inspiration for our new hospital, not sprawl, which is at its heart, an unhealthy fashion in which to build communities.
